Ponchatoula Chamber of Commerce Marketing Committee
The historic City of Ponchatoula, founded in 1861 and well known as the Strawberry Capital of the World, has always been a thriving community with good marketing potential for all businesses. Although in close proximity to both major metropolitan cities of New Orleans and Baton Rouge, it has maintained its rural, easygoing life style and businesses have prospered. The city also has a reputation for its many quality antique shops and proudly proclaims itself as America’s Antique City.
In September of 2001 the Ponchatoula Chamber of Commerce decided to engage in an effort to help continue the growth and prosperity of this community. At this time they formed the Ponchatoula Chamber of Commerce marketing committee chaired by Paul Pevey owner of Paul’s Café. This committee was made up of local business people who together developed and implemented a marketing plan designed to stimulate customer traffic, drive additional sales for all businesses, and to demonstrate the uniqueness Ponchatoula has to offer for tourism, recreation and as a place to live.
The success of this committee was made possible by ongoing contributions from local businesses. Contributions are made on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Contributors receive a monthly newsletter updating them on events and the monthly budget so they are always aware of how funds are being spent.
Recognizing that you have a stake in the prosperity of the city we sincerely need your assistance and support in this effort. If you would like to join the committee, please contact us.
